Bonus types explained
Welcome offers come in a handful of structures. Understanding the structure matters more than the headline number. This page stays educational; it does not promote a specific deal.
Deposit match bonuses
A deposit match credits bonus funds equal to a percentage of a qualifying deposit, up to a stated cap. Those funds are usually ring-fenced until wagering requirements are met. Contribution tables decide whether slots, table games or live casino count toward that requirement — and at what percentage. Always read the contribution grid before assuming a blackjack hand will clear the bonus.
Free spins
Free spins grant a set number of rounds on named slots, often at a fixed stake. Winnings from spins may themselves carry wagering, or they may convert under a separate rule. Operators sometimes limit spins to a shortlist of titles (common when a studio owns the casino front, as with Play’n GO–led brands). Expiry windows can be short; unused spins simply lapse.
Cashback
Cashback returns a percentage of net losses over a period, paid as bonus money or, less often, as withdrawable cash. The definition of “net loss”, excluded games and maximum return all sit in the terms. Cashback is not a guaranteed top-up; if you do not lose within the measurement window, nothing is owed.
Wagering requirements in plain terms
Wagering (or playthrough) is the multiple of bonus — or bonus plus deposit — that must be staked before funds become withdrawable. A 35× requirement on a £20 bonus means £700 of qualifying stakes.
